Every November 10, Türkiye pauses at 09:05 to remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
In 2017, younger generations live in a world of constant notifications, instant news, and rapidly changing technology. It is easy for historical memory to become compressed into a few images or quotations.
But history deserves more attention than that.
Atatürk’s importance lies not only in individual speeches or symbols, but in the scale of the transformation he led: from a country emerging from war to a republic seeking modern institutions, universal education, scientific progress, and national sovereignty.
Perhaps one of the best ways to commemorate him today is through serious study and understanding.
We remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with respect and gratitude.
