Apple Unveils Siri AI at WWDC26

Apple previewed a new generation of Siri at WWDC26 on June 8, 2026 as part of updates across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27.
The new Siri is designed around richer language understanding and access to personal and application context rather than the older command-and-intent model. Apple continued to combine on-device processing with larger remote models through its Apple Intelligence architecture, choosing where a request should run based on capability and privacy requirements.
For developers, the important change is that system intelligence is becoming another platform API. Applications can expose actions and data to an assistant, but that also requires strict permission boundaries so a model cannot silently act on information simply because it exists somewhere on the device.
