Remembering Atatürk on November 10, 2021

On November 10, we remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
After nearly two years shaped by a global pandemic, the importance of resilient institutions, education, science, and public trust is clearer than ever.
These themes also belong to the history of the Republic.
Atatürk’s project was not limited to political independence. It aimed to create the institutional and intellectual foundations of a modern society: schools, laws, scientific thinking, public administration, and a strong sense of national sovereignty.
In 2021, we live with technologies and possibilities that would have been unimaginable in his lifetime. Yet modernization is never finished.
Every generation has to decide how to use new tools, how to educate itself, and how to protect the institutions on which society depends.
At 09:05, Türkiye pauses.
We remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with respect and gratitude.
