Remembering Atatürk on November 10, 2012
Published:
On November 10, we remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
The Republic he founded was built on the belief that a society could transform itself through education, rational thought, law, and determined public effort.
In 2012, digital technology is becoming part of ordinary life. Smartphones, online education, and instant access to information are changing how a new generation sees the world.
But access to information is not the same as understanding.
Atatürk’s emphasis on science and education remains relevant because modern societies need citizens who can evaluate information, think independently, and distinguish evidence from assumption.
At 09:05, Türkiye pauses.
We remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with respect and gratitude, and we renew our appreciation for education, reason, and national sovereignty.
